Colton + Berkeley | Berry College Wedding

I was beyond excited when Berkeley contacted me over a year ago asking if I would photograph her wedding. I knew right away this was going to be a special day. Her and Colton decided to get married at Berry College. Berkeley recently graduated from Berry which was also her mom and dad’s alma mater.

The day was supposed to be a wet one. The forecast was saying 100% all day. We came prepared for the worse but prayed for the best. I woke up bight and early to a downpour but by the time breakfast was over the rain was gone. I walked from our hotel to the hair salon to meet the girls for some pre wedding photos- still no rain. We decided to head to the chapel early in hopes to get some outside photos. Berkeley asked me to set up a first look for her bridesmaids. I’m used to photographing a bride and groom’s first look so this was a first for me. It was such a special moment for Berkeley and her friends. AND still no rain!! Oh- you’ll see in the photos but Berry College is breathtaking. I cried when we first drove up to the chapel. I felt like we were in Italy for the weekend.

Colton really wanted to see Berkeley for the first time at the alter but they still wanted to have a special moment before the ceremony. While holding hands with a door in-between them, they prayed together and exchanged gifts. I think they’d agree this moment helped calm them both down!

All the guest took their seats and the violinist began to play. The ceremony was short but packed with so many meaningful moments. The pastor read scripture from Berkeley’s mom’s bible. They both exchanged personal vows they wrote for each other. That first kiss was one to remember! AND still no rain!!

It did finally decide to sprinkle for a few minutes right when we were ready for bridal party photos so we decided to take those during the reception. Thankfully it was a quick shower just to cool things off. We quickly drove to the tree arch and then headed to the reception. The bridal party ate quickly and we headed out for a few additional photos since it had stopped raining. They had to set a time limit for me! I could have kept them away from the party all night taking photos. Have I mentioned how much I loved Berry College? So many close friends drove up to share this special evening with them.

Thank you both for allowing me to photograph your wedding. It is one I will never forget!

I absolutely LOVE bridal sessions. What bride to be wouldn’t want to have another reason to put on her wedding gown? Berkeley looked stunning and I loved that she had her sister and close friend come to cheer her on! I think they were able to get a few extra laughs out of her.

David + Elizabeth | Pensacola Wedding Photographer

Who would have thought I would photograph the gentleman from Lowe’s who helped us so much while building our house. I think he felt sorry for me. It was a bit overwhelming building a house…not to mention having a baby in the process. Before we finished building, David told me he wanted me to photograph his wedding when the day came. Fast forward a few years and here we are!! I’ve grown to really love this couple and what they stand for. They even gave me some fresh eggs when we met to discuss the details of the day.

Now onto the wedding day. Sowell Farms was the location and let me just say…it’s PERFECT for your outside barn type wedding. They have two rooms for getting ready, several outdoor areas that are breathtaking for the ceremony location, and a barn that is to die for. David and Elizabeth decided to meet each other at the alter so we saved most the photos for after they became MR & MRS. One highlight of the ceremony I personally loved was the unity cross vs. using a candle.

David & Elizabeth thankfully set aside some time for us to take some additional photos while the guest had cocktail hour. I’m realizing though there is never enough time at this type of location. I could have photographed this sweet couple all day! They smiled quickly and we then joined the party for dinner, dancing, and making special memories!

Sweet Clara! I was so excited to finally meet you. Your mommy and I were due within days of each other but you decided you were ready to meet everyone early! Your smile and giggles are contagious and you definitely have your mommy and daddy wrapped. Looking forward to watching you grow.

Rob + Merveille | Pensacola Wedding Photographer

On February 23rd, I had the honor to photograph Rob & Merveille’s wedding. I joined them at the Margaritaville Hotel on the beach to capture a few getting ready photos and then headed to Ferdinand Plaza for some pre wedding photos. They wanted to save the first look for the alter so we made sure Rob didn’t peek while they swapped places. The ceremony was at St. Michael’s Catholic Church on Palafox St. and the reception was just across the street at the Palafox House. The median on Palafox is lined with beautiful trees which was the perfect location for the send off in between the ceremony and reception. The guest went to the reception for cocktail hour so we had some extra time to take more photos. I always love when we get to build in a few extra minutes for just couple photos! Rob, Merveille and the wedding party were introduced and the fun began! Lots of dancing, eating, laughing and special memories were made.
